The kitchen is a proper kitchen, not a kitchenette. Oven, stove, microwave, rice cooker, kettle, blender, a coffee machine, and a hot, normal and cold water dispenser. A knife block and chopping boards, two full drawers of cutlery and utensils, plates, bowls, wine glasses and tumblers. You can cook a real meal here, not just reheat one.

Living and dining share one open space with the windows down one side. Sofa, coffee table, and a dining table that seats four. There is a proper desk and an office chair by the window, so it works for a day of remote work.

For families. A travel cot, a high chair, a foldable baby bath, bottle detergent and a UV steriliser for bottles. There is a play tent with string lights, a toy kitchen, a shelf of children's books, and a three metre teddy bear your kids will find before they find you.

Laundry is a separate washer and a separate dryer, so nothing has to hang overnight.

WiFi runs at 600 mbps. The TV has cable.

You have the whole apartment to yourselves.

In the building:
Swimming pool on Level 22, open 7am to 9pm.
Playground and surau on Level G.
The gym on Level 22 is out of service at the moment, so please do not count on it.

Parking. One free car park on Level P1-b. Park in any spot without an orange cone, including the ones marked RESERVED in green. The ramp down into the car park is narrow, so take it slowly. Extra cars can use visitor parking at RM3 an entry.

Arriving early or leaving late? The guard at reception can hold your luggage. It runs RM10 to RM40 depending on size and how many bags.

Check-in is self service, and it is quick.

Your door code comes through on the day you arrive, by noon. We change it before every stay, so it will not arrive earlier than that.

We are not on site, but we are on the other end of a message and we answer fast. Ask us anything, from a bulb that has gone to where to eat that is not the mall.

Afiniti Residensi is in Medini, Iskandar Puteri. Legoland is a 3 minute walk, and the Legoland Hotel is the coloured building you can see from the master bedroom window.

Mall of Medini is a short walk for food and groceries, and there is a 7-Eleven on the ground floor of the block for the things you forget to pack.

The grounds are landscaped, with a water feature, paths and benches. The playground and the surau are on Level G, and the pool is on Level 22.

If you are not driving, most of what you need is within walking distance. Legoland is 3 minutes, Mall of Medini is a little further, and the 7-Eleven is downstairs.

Non-smoking unit. No smoking, no vaping, and no durian or mangosteen inside please.

The gym on Level 22 is in poor shape, most of the equipment is broken or missing. The pool, playground and surau are all open as normal.

The TV has cable. Netflix is not included, so sign in with your own account and sign out before you go.

Coming with a baby? Tell us before you arrive and we will set out the travel cot, the high chair and the foldable baby bath. We also keep bottle detergent and a UV steriliser for bottles, which saves you packing them.

Towels, shampoo and body wash are provided, plus a toothbrush and toothpaste for each guest.

The beds sleep 4. The three foldable mattresses are on request, so tell us your numbers when you book and we will have them made up.

The ramp into the underground car park is narrow. Fold your mirrors in and take it slowly.

One car parks free. A second car pays RM3 per entry at the building.

Afiniti opened in 2016, so the building is about 10 years old. The lobby, lifts and car park show their age.

The basement car park is dim in places. The day before check-in we send a step-by-step guide to your parking bay and the right lift.

Most cafés nearby open around 9:30 to 10am. For an early breakfast, Coffee Bean at Gleneagles, 150 m away, opens at 7am.

• Groceries: there's a 24-hour minimart and a 7-Eleven right next to each other in the building, plus a bigger supermarket, Ben's Independent Grocer, across the road at Mall of Medini.

Part of the walk to Legoland is not covered, so bring an umbrella on rainy days.
