The closest you can sleep to the gate, about 200 m. Every room is LEGO themed. Standard rooms take up to 5 (a king bed plus a bunk with a pull-out bed), Deluxe rooms and Suites up to 8. Packages include breakfast; room-only rates do not. It is also the most expensive here: RM665 on a Wednesday and RM868 on a Saturday for the cheapest room we saw.
For bigger families who want to walk: the apartments next door
Afiniti Residences Medini is about 300 m from the gate, through Mall of Medini. Many hosts rent whole apartments here (what many Malaysians call a homestay), us included. Our 6 homes are 2-bedroom and take 5 to 8 guests, each with a full kitchen, a washing machine and a baby cot. A 7-Eleven is downstairs.
Somerset Medini is a serviced apartment hotel in the same development, about 500 m from the gate. Its apartments have kitchens; the 2-bedroom takes 4 and the 3-bedroom 6.
D'Pristine Medini, about 500 m away, is a condo where many hosts rent out homes. Sizes and standards vary by host, so read the reviews of the exact home.
For couples and small budgets: a short drive away
Ramada Meridin (about 800 m, or a 5 minute drive) and OZO Medini (about 1 km, or 6 minutes) are hotels with no kitchen. Trinidad Suites in Puteri Harbour (9 minutes) has a kitchenette and a washer-dryer in every room. Sunway Big Box (10 minutes) has family suites, and its 2-bedroom Family Suite takes up to 6 adults and 2 kids.
A few things that make the day easier
- The gate area is called The Beginning: tickets, Guest Services, lockers and an ATM are all there.
- Storms often come late in the afternoon. Water Park first, Theme Park after lunch.
- From Singapore by bus: CW7 from Tuas Link MRT, then CW7L to Mall of Medini / Legoland. Card or app only, no cash.

What if it rains?
Storms often come late in the afternoon, and Water Park slides close when there is lightning. Do the Water Park in the morning and the Theme Park after lunch. Mall of Medini, between Afiniti and the gate, has covered walkways by the shops.
